Israel championship

The first round of the league was played by 16 teams in two groups.After the 14 matches,the 4 bests of each group play in Ligat Haal (top group) and the others in Liga leoumit .Here are the standings :

In Liga Leoumit,Bnei Hertselia (winner of the playoffs) and Guivat Shmouel (1st of the group) will stay in first league in 2001-2002.

Next year,there will be 10 teams in Ligat Haal,the first league of the Israeli championship.
